OK So I’m not starting this thing out very well…

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Ok so I know I said I was going to try to keep this current.  Well I guess I am slacking already.  Here Jason is-like 3 posts-and I only have one.  GOodneSs!  So hereis what has been going on with me the past week…..

We went to Wild Country on Friday night.  It was fun.  I enjoy hanging out with my buds but I sat there and pondered ‘how did I spend 3 nights a week for like 3 year in that place?!’  It is just a whole bunch of craziness in there!  I am not saying I will never go there again, because I will, but I just can’t believe I used to pretty much live in there!  Well then we went to the trivia night on Saturday-and yes the rumor is true–I did win the 50/50 on 1 ticket.  I don’t need to tell the story-as Jason has already done so.  I do love the trivia nights-even if we don’t win!  Sunday after J got back fronm the fire we did our normal Sundy ritual–wash clothes and go grocery shopping.  When we got home I was in the bathroom and J comes to the door and is like ‘sweetie-I think you will need to take me to the hospital’  Now if ANY of you know me you KNOW how much of a hypocondriac(sp?) I am.

So here I am thinking–is his blood sugar too high, is he having chest pains, did he cut himself-you name it it ran through my head.  Well I finally decided to ask why.  He prceeded to tell me that he thought he was taking his medicine but in fact he took one of my pills.  I just started cracking up!  J took an ESTROGEN PILL!!!

estrogen…..

I was so cracking up at this because-if any of you have seen the Longest Yard(with Adam Sandler) you will know what I am talking about-I immediately thought of that guard that was holding his breast and crying when his steriods were switched with estrogen pills.  Yeah–it was funny.  I told him he would be ok and just kept laughing.  I proceeded to tell my mom and my brother and they too cracked up.  Well I was on the computer later and J was like ‘sweetie–I lied to you.  I didn’t really take one of your pills.  Here is yours…’  So, yeah, he got me good.  But I am still laughing and telling everyone about it.  HILARIOUS I say, HILARIOUS!

Well here it is-Monday-I am on call.  WoOhoO! I put in like 5 time off sheets at work–all for times in July!  My first is a hlaf day tomorrow.  I have a rash that I normally get in the summer but this year it is HORRIBLE!  It won’t go away and now it’s spreading.  It’s not contagious otherwise everyone else around me would have it.  But I can’t stand this rash anymore so I need to see the Doc to figure out what it is.  My next day is 2hrs Wednesday morn.  I have to go to the hospital and get blood test.  Then I requested off for Tues because I get to get a Hysterosalpingogram.  This is where they will be shooting dye in ‘my area’ and looking at my tubes to make sure they are ok.  Then right there while looking at this ‘information’ the Doc will tell me what our next step is to us having children.  I am kind of scared of this test.  I know they said it was easy but I am just afraid of what the information is going to say.

The next days off are to drive J from the dentist.  He will be getting 6 teeth pulled in the middle of July.  Lucky for him…

teeth being pulled

Well I think that is all I am going to babble about for today.  Tune in tomorrow when I will let you know(hopefully) what this rash is.

Sunday morning

Monday, June 30th, 2008

At 5:30am the tones was paged out to a shed on fire near a propane tank. I actually had just got back home from going to town to get some milk (couldn’t sleep that night). I got home had a glass of milk, crawling back to bed then the tones went out. I jumped up grabbed some cloths to throw on. Jumped in the car went down the road from my house and get 5452. That is our second out pumper at station #2, or first out if I or a few others from this small town respond. We arrived on scene, we got the dump tank out, filled it up with water. I had asked my Asst. Chief. Dennis Lindley if I could run the pump, but before I could get my sentence out my Chief Kendal Brink had asked me to pack up and stand by at the door. Staging as a RIT(Rapid Intervention Team) team. So I packed up and stood by waiting for my call to go in. I was there for about 10 minutes packed and ready to make entry.

Then Chief Bill Johnston asked me to go in and help with the hose getting around a door way. So I started my air on my SCBA and made my way in. By this time the fire was knocked down. I helped with the hose, and then they asked for me to go open the front part of the shed door. I went to the truck and grabbed an axe. And made my way of opening the door. They got it unlocked from the inside I used the axe to pry the door open. Got the door open and to let the all the smoke clear that was left in the building. By this point everything was clear to start loading everything up. So I took my pack off, and started rolling hose we got everything cleared up then. We took a look inside after the smoked cleared, to see what may have caused the fire. In the mean time my Instructor and also Greenville Fire Chief Bill Johnston pointing out what we just learned in Fire Fighting II class last week. We went over building construction. Next Tuesday will be a fun class I am sure we will talk about this fire. Anyhow, by this time it was around 8:30 got back to the station and cleaned up the hose put it on the drying rack, just hanging out next thing we know.

The tones went out again! To the same location, So Asst. Chief Dennis Lindley, and I jumped in 5452 and headed to the scene. We were the first one on scene. I pulled 2 lines off the truck, and Dennis asked me if I wanted to run the pump this time. I of course said yes, I need more experience in running the pump since I only run it on trainings mainly. It shows that I needed little more experience on the pump because I could not get the pre-connect hose rolling with water. I had to run it off directly from the pump. Later I found out what I was doing wrong and now I know and I will never make the same mistake again. I was using the wrong lever for the preconect. Anyhow I ran the pump for the remainder of the day and we didn’t get back till around 1:30. Got everything cleaned and put away, then went to get something to eat with everyone.

Then I went home slept for 3 hours, went to go do laundry, and went grocery shopping. That was my day on Sunday!

Saturday Night Trivia Night

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

A night of fun for sure!

Trivia is not one of my favorite things to do. I am not the one that has a good memory on past things. However I do like to go out and have a good time with friends. The night started out going meeting up with Matt & Amanda at the hall where the trivia night was at. As we got there and settled in. I bought some raffle tickets; $10 dollars worth. Loni she asked if I wanted to buy any 50/50 tickets I told her no, since I had just bought some raffle. So she said she was going to buy one ticket, I said go for it. First couple of rounds went by and they drew the first 50/50 drawing. They read off the numbers next thing I know I heard Loni screaming.. So she won…

100_dollar_bill.jpg and sixty nine dollars.

By this time we both had plenty of  beerdraft.gif in us. I though she may have one too many to drink and misread her number. She went up there to claim her ticket,

The guy told her she had the wrong ticket – but he was just joking around. They checked and she was a winner!!!

It was nice they had free draft beer included with the trivia night. I put down my fair share of beer that night. I usually dont drink beer, but it was good. I am not sure how many cups I had but I know I filled up the picture at least 10 times if not more. I didnt get wasted, as well as anyone else. But I had a good time, and really enjoyed myself.

Other games they had was a scavager hunt. We(our table) also won that, total of 48 dollars divided by 8 of us. We one 6 dollars each, not too bad. Then they drew out the raffle tickets, and I won a 25 dollar gift card to wal-mart.

By the end of the night we walked out with $206.00 of winnings. Not to bad for not doing good in the trivia night. We got 61 out of 100 questions; not too good.

The main thing we did enjoy ourselfs, and look forward in going again sometime!

My first blog

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Hey this is Loni.  I actually just signed up to comment on a blog Amanda wrote.  Jason saw the sight and thought it was pretty cool.  I have never been really good at keeping diaries or journals so I may not be very dedicated on here.  But I will try.  Right now all we do is pretty much work and we are on clal for the ambulance.  We have to jam pack everything extra we need to do into Saturday and Sunday.  It gets busy and crazy at times but that is ok.  We are hoping that by September(my goal) we will be getting ready to move into our own place.

Hopefully soon we will be able to have our own children.  We went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and it sounds like he is going to be really aggressive with the situation the next few months.  I hope so.  We want our own children so badly.  We have always wanted them.  So hopefully, maybe, possibly soon I will be writing a blog about being pregnant.  But until then we will just keep hoping and praying.  Well I don’t know what else to say on this first blog so I will quit rambling.

Tonight I had fire fighter 2 class, we are about 1/4 way through the whole class. Tonight we learned about building construction, how they hold up, and against fire. It is a very good class I’ve learned alot so far, and we have alot more to go. Will post more about this class in the future.
